wikipedia
Bad Brains is an American hardcore punk band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1977. They are widely regarded as among the pioneers of hardcore punk, though the band's members objected to this term to describe their music. They are also an adept reggae band, while later recordings featured elements of other genres like funk, heavy metal, hip-hop and soul. Bad Brains are followers of the Rastafari movement.
Originally formed as a jazz fusion ensemble under the name Mind Power, Bad Brains developed a very fast and intense punk rock sound which came to be labeled "hardcore", and was often played faster and more emphatically than the music of many of their peers. The unique factor of the band's music was the fact that they played more complex rhythms than that of other hardcore punk bands, also adapting non-punk style guitar riffs and solos into their songs.
Bad Brains have released 8 studio albums (one of which is entirely composed of instrumental versions of their past material). The band broke up and reformed several times over the years, sometimes with different singers or drummers. The band's classic and current lineup is singer H.R. (Human Rights), guitarist Dr. Know, bassist Darryl Jenifer, and drummer Earl Hudson, H.R.'s younger brother.

Alone in a Crowd - Anthrax Norwalk C.T. 1989

http://www.amazon.com/Alone-Crowd-Catch-22/dp/B00004YR5U
New Jersey's most successful ska-punk combo, Catch 22, was formed in the fall of 1996 when founding members Chris Greer, Ryan Eldred, and Kevin Gunther set out to play a genre of music that quickly became a huge national trend. Through the years the band has changed a few members but the attitude has stayed the same. "Putting out good music and having tons of people around the world singing and dancing at shows is the most important thing to us," commented singer Ryan. The band relentlessly toured for years in support of albums like "Keasbey Nights", "Alone in a Crowd" and "Washed Up And Through The Ringer", and are one of the best-selling bands on Victory. Catch 22 toured with bands like Suicide Machines, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish and Pennywise, among many others, and have returned the favor by offering to help younger bands on their way up. In addition to headlining Victory Records Tour 2002, Sum 41, Bowling For Soup and Thursday opened for Catch 22! when they were unknown nationally.
On their first album since 2000, Catch 22 mixes elements of Jazz, R&B, Soul and Funk into their patented ska/punk sound. Jazzy arrangements and chord progressions coincide with heavy reggae and funk influences on "Dinosaur Sounds". "Even though there's a lot of jazz and reggae on the record, the three bands that most influenced the album are Sublime, NOFX and early Weezer" explains Kevin, "Ryan is a huge Sublime fan and he wrote most of the lyrics, and he does almost all the singing on the album."

Black Flag - Club Lingerie 1984

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Flag_(band)
Black Flag was an American punk rock band formed in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, California. The band was established by Greg Ginn, the guitarist, primary songwriter and sole continuous member through multiple personnel changes in the band. They are widely considered to be one of the first hardcore punk bands.
Black Flag's sound mixed the raw simplicity of the Ramones with atonal guitar solos and frequent tempo shifts. The lyrics were written mostly by Ginn, and like other punk rock bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s, Black Flag voiced an anti-authoritarian and non-conformist message, in songs punctuated with descriptions of social isolation, neurosis, poverty, and paranoia. These themes were explored further when Henry Rollins joined the band as lead singer in 1981. Most of the band's material was released on Ginn's independent label, SST Records.
Over the course of the 1980s, Black Flag's sound, as well as their notoriety, evolved in ways that both embraced and alienated much of their early audience. As well as being central to the creation of hardcore punk, they were innovators in the first wave of American West Coast punk rock and are considered a key influence on punk subculture in the United States and abroad. Along with being among the earliest punk rock groups to incorporate elements and the influence of heavy metal melodies and rhythm, there were often overt freestyles, free jazz, breakbeat and contemporary classical elements in their sound, especially in Ginn's guitar playing, and the band interspersed records and performances with instrumentals throughout their career. They also played longer, slower, and more complex songs at a time when bands in their milieu performed a raw, fast, three-chord format. As a result, their extensive discography is more stylistically varied than many of their punk rock contemporaries.
Black Flag was and remains well-respected within punk subculture, primarily for their tireless promotion of an autonomous DIY punk ethic and aesthetic. They are often regarded as pioneers in the movement of underground do-it-yourself record labels that flourished among the 1980s punk rock bands. Through constant touring throughout the United States and Canada, and occasionally Europe, Black Flag established a dedicated cult following.

The Battalion of Saints are one of the more hard core punk bands from there time.
Starting in 1980 out of San Diego,Their songs were nonstop blasts
of adrenaline and raw power. The Batts were one of the most furious and
nihilistic bands that were ahead of there time.
In 5 years the band accomplished unforgettable performance's leaving
a deep impression and influence on the punk rock scene.
The original band broke up in 1985. The mainstay of the band is the singer, George Anthony.
In 1995, George reformed the band with his friend Terry Bones

Agnostic Front, Gorilla Biscuits, SOIA Live NYC 1991

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnostic_Front
Agnostic Front is an American punk band. The band began playing hardcore punk similar to their contemporaries, and were thrust to the forefront of the burgeoning New York hardcore scene in the mid-1980s with their widely regarded 1984 classic Victim in Pain before incorporating thrash metal elements into their

History
Early
Formed by guitarist Vinnie Stigma (formerly of the Eliminators) in November/December 1980, with Diego on bass and Rob Krekus on drums. Agnostic Front went through a few singers, two of them being John Watson and Jimmy "The Mad Russian", before settling with Roger Miret (former bass player of The Psychos). They soon added Ray Barbieri, aka Raybeez (Warzone), on drums and Adam Mucci on bass. Their debut EP United Blood, released in 1983 on an indie label, has since become a collector's item. At this time, the band consisted entirely of skinheads. Although this would change over time, Agnostic Front would continue to feature skinheads as part of their line-up.
The follow-up, Victim in Pain (1984), is regarded as a seminal New York hardcore release. Dave Jones replaced Raybeez on drums and Rob Kabula on bass. In 1984, Jimmy "The Kid" Colletti from Justified Violence joined on drums as the band went to tour with The Exploited later that year. The album pushed the band to the forefront of New York's fledgling hardcore scene, which was centered around CBGB, where they played with bands like The Cro-Mags and Murphy's Law. Roger Miret asserts that all the songs on the album "are totally inspired by the streets of New York and my life and what was going on with my friends. It was dangerous. We did what we had to do to survive by any means necessary. It was like a war or a battlefield, and we stood our ground".
1986's Cause for Alarm was a difficult album to record, due to constant line-up changes and personnel problems. Released on Combat Records, it added thrash metal influences. With other bands such as Suicidal Tendencies and Stormtroopers of Death, this album would mark AF's foray into the world of crossover thrash. It also featured some lyrics written by Peter Steele and drumming by Louie Beateaux (also of Carnivore)
With yet another new line-up, the band soon released Liberty and Justice for... in 1987. The album featured stripped down punk with a lack of thrash influences, yet it contained many metal-style guitar solos. It did not sell nearly as well as previous releases. Sometime later, Miret was arrested on drug charges after releasing a live album, and spent his time in prison writing new songs while Stigma and the band toured Europe for the first time. The lyrics written by Miret while incarcerated formed most of 1992's One Voice, which featured members of Madball and Sick of It All. Not long after its release, the band decided to call it quits. Their last show was at CBGB on December 20, 1992; Last Warning, which was also released with United Blood EP on the end of the release. Vinnie Stigma apparently remarked that he hated Last Warning.
Later
Stigma and Miret reformed Agnostic Front in May 1996 and did a few reunion shows in December 1996, signing to Epitaph Records and recruiting Jimmy Colletti on drums and Rob Kabula, who was playing with Against The Grain at the time, on bass. Their latest venture was titled Something's Gotta Give, although Miret announced in the U.K. the original title would be Today, Tomorrow, Forever. In 1999, they followed up with Riot, Riot, Upstart. They also won an MTV award for the title track music video. Their comeback albums have sold well and been mostly acclaimed by music critics for their pure hardcore punk/oi! sound.
In 2001, they released the album Dead Yuppies. Songs from this album were rarely played live, as the band considered it more a product of Loved and Hated, Jimmy Colletti's side-project band.
In 2002, Miret worked on a side-project band, Roger Miret and the Disasters, looking for a sound akin to old school punk rock and oi!. Also that year, the band appeared in Matthew Barney's film, Cremaster 3 along with Murphy's Law.
Agnostic Front came out in 2004 with Another Voice. The album was regarded mainly as a follow-up to One Voice. The album, however, did receive some criticism from fans and the press for apparently changing their music to fit the current wave of 'tough guy' bands. Musically, the album bears resemblance to bands that were heavily influenced by Agnostic Front, such as Hatebreed. Miret's vocals on the album particularly seemed to turn off many less hardcore punk-oriented fans. Later, the track "Peace" was contributed to the mash-up album Threat: Music That Inspired The Movie, where it was remixed by Schizoid and renamed "World At War."
On March 7, 2006, Agnostic Front released their long-awaited DVD "Live at CBGB". This follows the efforts of many bands that tried to save CBGB from shutting down. Even though Miret claims that "We played more shows at CBGB than any band ever, and we played more benefit shows for CBGB than any band ever" when the club did close most nostalgia focused on 1970's punk bands.
On November 6, 2007, Agnostic Front released the album Warriors with the hit "For My Family" which was largely a continuation of the band's crossover thrash sound.
For the 25th anniversary of their debut LP Victim in Pain, Bridge Nine Records released remastered versions of said album along with their first EP, United Blood, on November 17, 2009.
The band performed on the Persistence Tour in Europe in the winter of 2009 and have also been confirmed for Rebellion Festival 2012 in Blackpool, U.K.

Adrenalin O.D. - Unknown

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrenalin_OD
Adrenalin O.D. was a popular hardcore punk band from New Jersey that existed from 1981 to 1990. They are best known for playing extremely fast music accompanied by humorous lyrics.
History
Adrenalin O.D. formed in 1981 from the ashes of late '70s punk band The East Paterson Boys Choir. A.O.D.'s first recordings saw release on the widely distributed New York Thrash cassette compilation released on ROIR cassettes in 1982. The compilation also featured the first recordings of the Beastie Boys, as well as prominent NYC punk bands like Kraut and the Washington DC band Bad Brains. The comedic and speedy "Paul's Not Home" became an instant college radio hit.
A.O.D.'s first vinyl release, a six song (EP) entitled Let's Barbeque, was released on their own Buy Our Records label. Because the budget was so tight, the band could only afford 15 minutes of studio time. They recorded all six tracks in one take with no overdubs. Buy Our Records became one of New Jersey's largest indie punk labels and springboarded the careers of many bands including Flag of Democracy, Raging Slab, and Pussy Galore.
Adrenalin O.D.'s first album entitled The Wacky Hijinks of Adrenalin O.D. showcased the band's use of blazing speed-punk and sarcastic lyrics, taking aim at the suburban experience with songs like "Middle Aged Whore", "Trans Am" (the inspiration for the Dead Milkmen's "Bitchin' Camaro"), and the crowd favorite "Rock n' Roll Gas Station". The album contains an untitled and blatantly obvious backmasked track. When played backwards, it is the band members saying in unison; "God is very, very nice. Be kind to animals. Satan sucks." The band turned down offers from virtually every major metal label looking to market the band to the emerging thrash metal crowds, maintaining that even though their songs had a metallic edge they were a punk band. Some of the songs on 'HumungousFungusAmongus' are the fastest hardcore tracks ever recorded. Adrenalin O.D. toured nationally and created a loyal following via their live shows (described by some as an experience somewhere between Minor Threat and Don Rickles.) The band's quick wit and on-stage banter was at times as much of an improv stand-up comedy act as a hardcore punk band, and fans coined the term "funny-punk" to describe their performances. Tracks that exhibit the band's quirky sense of humor include a punk rock cover of Henry Mancini's "Baby Elephant Walk", a surf rock version of "Hava Nagila" entitled "Surfin' Jew" aka "Surfin' Adam Meshell", and a track entitled "Masterpiece" which is a punk reworking of Jean-Joseph Mouret's 'Rondeau" from "Symphonies and Fanfares for the King's Supper" (which the band knew only as the theme from the PBS TV series Masterpiece Theatre).
By their third release Cruising With Elvis In Bigfoot's UFO, the band brought in producer Daniel Rey (who had worked with the Ramones, Misfits and Iggy Pop) to help the band's translation from hyper-speed to mid-tempo melodic punk. With songs like "Bulimic Food Fight", and "My Mom Can't Drive", Stereo Review Magazine ranked the album among the funniest records of all time, and the album was formative in the development of the punk sound of Fat Wreck Chords.
After parting ways with Adrenalin O.D. in 1986, Jack Steeples took over the guitar duties for Mental Decay. Mental Decay recorded and released 3 singles (Mental Decay, Elvis Demilo, and Walking Stick) plus 2 cuts a the Headache Records compilation with Jack on guitar. Jack left Mental Decay in 1995 and "cleaned up". He would rejoin Mental Decay again for a short time in 1996 to record and play a number shows. In December 1995, Jack would take over Bass duties and rejoin his friend and Adrenalin O.D. frontman Paul Richard in the Kowalskis. Jacks first show with the Kowalskis would be opening for Iggy Pop. Fronted by Kitty Kowalski, the Kowalskis released a single and a full length CD (All Hooped up on Goofballs) on the Blackout record label with Jack and Paul. After leaving the Kowalskis in 1999, Paul and Jack would go on to form SUX. SUX was together for 10 years, never releasing any recordings.
Band members Bruce Wingate and Wayne Garcia went on to form a three-man band Bruce Wayne in tribute to both of their first names and the secret identity of comic book hero Batman. In the mid-1990s Wingate was the musical director for two tours by cult figure Harvey Sid Fisher. He has continued to write and record as the frontman for many groups, including The International Brunch Mummies, Shyster Shyster & Flywheel, New Reagans, The Earls Of Sandwich, and the TXT PSTLZ (text pistols). He also formed a joke-techno band called Total Dick which progressed and renamed itself to District Allstarz.
Drummer Dave Scott spent three years exercising his rock–metal imperative with the ill fated New Jersey "supergroup" Scrooge (later Grimelord) with members of Genocide and Niblick Henbane, before going on to Atlantic Recording artists Lucy's Trance. He later relocated to Florida, and has played in The Hybrids, November Charlie, The F-Pipes and The Rondos. Dave Scott also went on to be a stand up comic, and still performs in Florida. Foster, son of fireballing 97-year-old Bill Foster, who is currently the only remaining alumnus still alive from Upsala College, went on to become the lead guitarist in Electric Frankenstein.
Adrenalin O.D. have reunited several times, soon to be June 4 in Danbury CT, but so far most recently to benefit CBGB's, along with The Dead Boys, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, and Flipper in August 2005. In 2007, Steeples and Richard reunited as "A.O.D." with Greg Farah on drums for a show at the Court Tavern in New Brunswick, NJ. In 1999, they reunited to record the 31-second track "Your Kung Fu Is Old...and Now You Must Die!!!" for the compilation CD Short Music For Short People.

Bold - Anthrax C.T. 17.7.88

wikipedia;
Bold is a late 1980s youth crew hardcore band from Westchester County, New York, which along with bands like Youth Of Today and Side By Side were a part of the Youth Crew, and an influence in the late 80's straight edge hardcore scene. The band progressed to a more rock-oriented sound in its later years.

History
Originally called Crippled Youth, the band was formed in Katonah, New York by Matt Warnke (vocals), Tim Brooks (bass) and Drew Thomas (drums). After a couple of shows with Matt singing and playing guitar, they recruited John 'Zulu' Zuluaga on guitar, and Matt switched to just singing. They released a 7" EP entitled 'Join The Fight' on the California label New Beginning in 1986 before switching to the name Bold. It was under this name that they recorded the 11-song LP Speak Out. The record was supposed to be released on California's WishingWell Records, but was eventually released in 1988 on Revelation Records.
The band later recruited Tom Capone (Beyond/Shelter/Quicksand/etc.) on second guitar, and recorded a self-titled 5-song 7" in 1989, also on Revelation Records. The 7" is by many considered their best material, adding more melody to their straightforward hardcore sound. The 7" EP was re-issued on a 12" entitled 'Looking Back' in 1993, with 2 bonus tracks.
Bold re-united in 2005 with Warnke on vocals, Capone on guitar, Brooks on bass and Vinny Panza on drums. John Porcelly, who periodically played with the band in the 1980s, later joined on second guitar. To conincide with the re-union, Revelation released the retrospective CD The Search: 1985-1989, which contains the band's entire recorded output.
However, Warnke and Porcelly left in 2006, effectively breaking up the band. The bands' recordings from the period after back together, although allegedly completed, have yet to surface. A European tour with replacement members was planned for Summer 2007, but did not happen.

Bl'ast - Anti Club Hollywood 1.1.87

wikipedia;
Blast (stylized as BL'AST!) was a California hardcore punk and rock band from Santa Cruz. The original lineup consisted of Clifford Dinsmore on vocals, Mike Neider and Steve Stevenson on guitars, Dave Cooper on bass, and Bill Torgerson on drums.

History
BLAST! began in 1982-83 and released its first album, The Power of Expression, in 1985. They recorded the album three times before releasing it. Stevenson left the group after the release of The Power of Expression and was briefly replaced by William DuVall, former guitarist of Atlanta, Georgia's Neon Christ;[1] from then on, Neider was the sole guitarist from that point on. The group caught the attention of SST Records, who signed them up for their next release, It's In My Blood in 1987. That same year, a 7-inch was released, including a cover of Alice Cooper's "School's Out". The band's third release for SST was Take The Manic Ride, which was released in 1989.
Cooper in 1989 was replaced by Ron Isa for the Manic Ride tour, and then Ron Isa was replaced by John Schuler for some Bl'ast! shows and post-Manic Ride demos.
Cliff Dinsmore was not in the group sometime in 1990 and co-founded the band Spaceboy. The rest continued on without him, with Neider taking over vocal duties. Blast officially ceased to exist in December 1990 and changed their name to Blackout (releasing one awesome 7-inch under that name) and then again to Lab (who also put out a 7-inch EP, as well as a hard-to-find four-song CD you could only get along with a Santa Cruz Skateboards order), continuing into the late 90s playing many shows w/ Fu Manchu. Brant Bjork moved to Santa Cruz to briefly join LAB before joining up with Fu Manchu.
Blast briefly reunited in 2001, playing a handful of shows on the West Coast. They were also planning to record again, but the band decided not to before this materialized.

Agnostic Front - The Dome, London 12.11.90

wikipedia;
Agnostic Front – amerykańska grupa muzyczna grająca hardcore punk oraz crossover thrash.

Historia
Została założona w 1982 roku w Nowym Jorku przez Vinniego Stigmę (gitara) i Rogera Mireta. Do oryginalnego składu w 1982 roku dołączyli Ray Barbieri (perkusja), późniejszy lider grupy Warzone i Adam Moochie (bas). Grupa w swej twórczości łączyła m.in. stylistykę oi! i hardcore. AF dali sporo koncertów m.in. z takimi grupami jak The Cro-Mags i Murphy's Law.
Wydany w 1986 roku album Cause For Alarm był produkcją, którą trudno było ukończyć ze względu na stałe zmiany składu i problemy osobiste. Wydany w Combat Records Cause For Alarm zawierał thrashmetalowe wpływy, kreując nowy gatunek nazywany crossover. Z nowym składem w 1987 roku nagrali kolejny album Liberty And Justice. Scena hardcore przeżywała wtedy drobny kryzys, dlatego na płycie usłyszeć można punkowe dźwięki z wkrętami thrashowymi i metalowymi gitarowymi solówkami. Niedługo później Miret został aresztowany za posiadanie i zażywanie narkotyków. W więzieniu pisał nowe kawałki podczas gdy Stigma z resztą zespołu odbył pierwszy koncertowy tour po Europie. Texty napisane przez Mireta zasiliły płytę One Voice (1992), przy nagrywaniu której udział wzięli członkowie zespołów Madball i Sick of It All.
Ostatni koncert przed pierwszym 4 letnim zawieszeniem działalności grupy miał miejsce w CBGB's w 1993 roku i nazywał się Last Warning.
Zaczęli nagrywać dla Epitaph Records (gdzie nagrywa m.in Bad Religion).
W 2002 roku Miret pracował nad solowym projektem "Roger Miret And The Disasters", będącym typową grupą punk/oi!.
Ostatnimi dwoma albumami, niezbyt dobrze przyjętymi przez słuchaczy, były Another Voice (2005) oraz wydany w 2006 double DVD/CD pack Live In CBGB's zarejestrowany 14 kamerami koncert w stylu "powrotu do korzeni". Grupa wydając ten koncert starała się uratować podupadające CBGB's.

Agression - Fender's Ballroom L.A. 19.4.86

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agression_(band)
Agression was an American rock band from Silver Strand Beach, Oxnard, California. Agression was one of the founding bands of the Nardcore (Oxnard, California hardcore) scene and an early proponent of the skate punk genre. The band fused skate culture with the punk scene- featuring a song about skateboarding (Intense Energy) and a Glen E. Friedman photo of Arthur Lake skating a pool on their first and most popular album, "Don't Be Mistaken".

The band was known for its fast-paced, aggressive songs such as "Slammin' at the Club", "Money Machine", "Intense Energy", "Never Alone", "Go to War", and "Locals Only".

Original members:

Vocals - Mark Hickey
Guitar - Henry Knowles
Bass - Bob Clark
Drums - Mark Abe

Early 1980s - 2000

Agression was part of the first wave of skatepunk bands to emerge from southern California in the early '80s. These groups were on the front lines of a new union between the skateboard and punk rock cultures, which were put on a path to convergence by the establishment hassling each group. The resulting music was a confluence of punk's anger and simplicity, the furious speed of hardcore, and defiantly smart-assed machismo. Emerging out of Oxnard, CA (which was such a hotbed of punk and skate bands that their sound became known as "Nardcore"), Agression consisted of the two founding members, vocalist Mark Hickey, and guitarist Henry Knowles, along with bassist Bob Clark, and drummer Mark Aber.

Before their days as punk icons, in 1979 singer Mark Hickey, guitarist Henry Knowles, and bassist Bob Clark skated for Sims. (Source, Thrasher Magazine, July 2005) In this article Clark claims to be a co-founding member of Agression, whether he was or not is a minor and arguably irrelevant issue. Although Clark was verifiably close friends with Hickey and Knowles at the time, Hickey contradicts this claim in an interview with The Hooligan magazine. (Source: The Hooligan, issue Summer 1996) Regardless, Clark was the original and most senior bassist according to the timeline of lineups and albums released with his participation. Big Bob, Mark and Henry were roommates. The unit was one of the first groups to be involved with the Better Youth Organization (BYO) – the collective started by Shawn and Mark Stern of Youth Brigade—and contributed three songs, "Intense Energy", "Dear John Letter" and "Rat Race" to Someone Got Their Head Kicked In, the label's classic 1982 compilation.

Don't Be Mistaken, their debut full length, was released on BYO in 1983, chock-full of rapid-fire skatepunk rhythms. Contributions to various Mystic Records compilations followed, with Agression's sound wavering between skatepunk and more generic heavy metal; a self-titled LP on that label appeared in 1985, as did the "official" bootleg of an Agression show at the New York club CBGB.

Agression was able to get as far as CBGB with the aid of their manager, Scott Hatch, who also managed the more established hardcore outfit Fear. As Hickey said at the time, it was difficult not to appreciate the coolness of "Agression" and "Fear" listed on one bill. Aber left the group in 1985 for a spot with Angry Samoans.

Agression went through many iterations of band members, with vocalist Mark Hickey being the only original member remaining throughout the band's career.

Pushing on, Agression relocated from Oxnard, California to a more central location in Denver, Colorado as its home base in the late 80's. Henry Knowles (guitar) left the band after a few years in Colorado, returning to California. A short while after this, bassist Bob Clark also left the band. For a short time, Agression went on hiatus as new members were sought out.

The remaining members in Colorado were Mark Hickey, and Mike Minnick, A.K.A. "Fluffy Machete" (Drums). Minnick was well known in the So-Cal punk scene as the former drummer of two seminal Nardcore bands, Ill Repute and Habeas Corpus.

To fill the large vacuum left by the loss of Henry Knowles, in 1992, Hickey permanently added his friend and locally well known guitar virtuoso Kent Taylor, and went through several fill-in bassists including "Jelly Roll" (Real name unknown), and Conrad Sear, before finally settling on bassist Adam Pittman A.K.A. "Commander Adama" as a permanent addition to the band. Sear was temporarily retained for a short period as a rhythm guitarist, and left the band soon thereafter.

With the new Colorado lineup, Agression began touring again, and recorded two albums, "Nowhere to Run" (Recorded at the Peak Lounge studio in Denver, High Five Records, 1995, Lineup: Hickey, vox, Taylor, lead guitar, Minnick, drums, Conrad Sear, rhythm guitar, Pittman, bass guitar.), and "Live at the Lair", (Same lineup, minus Sear) a very rare and never widely released live album recorded in the infamous Denver punk club, the "Lion's Lair". Where Knowles left off as the main writer of music in the band while Hickey penned the lyrics, bassist Adam Pittman picked up the responsibility after "Nowhere to Run" was released.

Agression had been flirting with a more "crossover" metal sound for many years, so after "Nowhere to Run", Pittman and Hickey tried to swing the band back into its more melodic punk heritage with the new music. (Pittman was the youngest member of the band and a fan of their oldest material. Source: KPFR radio interview, July, 1995) Several of the new songs can be heard on the "Live at the Lair" recording. While they lack the surf style of the early Agression material, the swing back to their punk roots is noticeable, in a speedier, more melodic style than the material between "Don't Be Mistaken, and "Nowhere to Run".

In 1997, longtime drummer Mike Minnick left the band to pursue other musical projects. Minnick has since made a name for himself as a drummer in the rockabilly scene, and continues his playing in several projects to this day, including the Aquasonics and Paul Galaxy and the Galactix.

With the loss of their drummer, Agression also lost its practice space and base of operation in his converted studio basement. The band continued touring temporarily with replacement drummer Brian, (last name unknown) a friend and neighbor of Hickey, making their new practice space in the six-unit converted Victorian mansion Hickey lived in at the time, known locally as the "Gaylord House", owing its moniker to the name of the street (Gaylord St.) the house sits on.

As the band struggled to adjust to the new rhythm section, a new, politically correct attitude had developed within the punk scene. This attitude caused Agression newfound trouble in several different ways.

The distinctive "bar-s" logo the band used since 1981, designed by artist Jamie Hernandez (illustrator of the comic Love and Rockets) resembling a black bar with a single lightning-bolt style S, or more accurately, the Sig, or Sowilo Germanic rune meaning "sun", or "victory" offset to the left of the bar, was misunderstood by many of the younger members of the punk scene. The logo was mistaken for a Nazi "SS" symbol, and rumors circulated that the band were racists, Nazis or white supremacists. This was compounded by Hickey's self identification as a "traditional skinhead".

Although the traditional skinhead culture was multi-racial and had its roots in Jamaican ska & reggae, the shaved head, Doc Martens and braces worn by traditional skinheads were difficult to distinguish by outsiders as a similar look had been adopted by the newer Nazi Skinheads that had made violent news and much trouble in the punk scene during the '80s and '90s.

Despite the fact that Agression's lyrics were non-political, (and even positive at times), had at one time had an African-American drummer, (John Mitchell, who recorded at least one full-length and an EP with the band in the mid-eighties) and co-founding original member Henry Knowles was of Japanese descent, the rumors persisted.

Compounding the problem, some Nazi skinheads themselves mistook Agression for a band sympathetic to their unpopular cause and showed up regularly to Agression concerts, causing problems with the fans and the venue owners. Agression was forced in many places to hire an inordinate amount of security, or, they were barred from playing altogether.

This forced Agression to play shows under the name "Nightbreed" in some places, in order to avoid the trouble that had arisen by the very problematic misunderstanding.

Agression disbanded in 1998 after the multitude of problems with booking and difficulty adjusting to the loss of Minnick as drummer caused practices and shows to become fewer and farther apart, until Hickey finally pulled the plug in June 1998. (Unofficially, Hickey Taylor and Pittman never formally called it "quits", but the band never re-emerged after that summer.)

Vocalist Mark Hickey continued playing in his side project, "Hickey Blues", a blues band that included many members of the Agression lineup. Hickey was an accomplished harmonica player, and Agression fans can hear a bit of his harmonica used on the 1995 Agression album "Nowhere to Run", on the songs "Spinning Terror", and the revised version of the classic Agression hit, "Money Machine".

Guitarist Kent Taylor went on to form a local punk band called "Praise God and Pass the Ammunition", and continues his playing in various projects, including as a studio guitarist.

Bassist Adam Pittman A.K.A. "Commander Adama" went on to form the band "Negative Man" which enjoyed moderate success in the international punk scene for its three year span. Many songs on the self-titled first album, "Negative Man" (CD, AMP Records 1999, 2005) were written while Pittman was with Agression, and were intended as Agression songs. (In particular the Negative Nan songs "Runaway", and "Fun and Games" can be heard on Agression's "Live at the Lair" with the original lyrics penned by Hickey as "Happy Dope" and "When")

2000 onwards

In early 2000, the band reformed in San Jose, California, with Henry Knowles (guitar), Rob Thacker (bass), Ryan Fassler (drums), and Drew (vocals). This line-up continued through many shows with bands like Dead Kennedys, DI, Jim Jones Brigade, and Pitch Black. This incarnation of the band continued until the summer of 2001.

The new millennium brought about the unfortunate deaths of two of its original, and founding members: Mark Hickey in 2000, due to acute liver failure, and Henry Knowles lost to leukemia in 2002.

In mid-2002, a "Henry Knowles Memorial Show" took place at Skatelab, in Simi Valley, California, featuring the "Nardcore All-Stars" (who did an all-Agression song set list), Rejected Society, The Missing 23rd, Dr. Know and Ill Repute, among others.

To this day, many bands are still highly influenced by the sound of Agression. The high-energy, surf guitar influenced sound and the distinctive voice of vocalist Mark Hickey set them apart from the rest of their contemporaries with their unique sound and attitude.

Dr. Strange records has released a tribute to Agression titled Taking Out A Little Agression featuring many of their contemporaries along with modern bands covering Agression songs.

In October 2006, several former members of Agression played the Spike Fest in Long Beach. This lineup consisted of Big Bob Clark, Mark Aber, Rob Thacker (who played with Henry's lineup), Dave Haro, and JellyRoll for a few songs. This continued in November for two shows in Northern California.

From June 14–17, 2007, the same lineup minus JellyRoll performed in Northern California in a four-day tour to celebrate the release of the Agression tribute compilation. This release is out on Dr. Strange Records on CD and vinyl, and was expected to be available in stores worldwide on July 24, 2007. This compilation is dedicated to all those who have ever played in Agression along the years. Track # 28 is a song called "What Did I Do", which was written and recorded by Henry Knowles a couple years before he died.

Most Recently Aggression played at Punk Rock Picnic 2011 on Saturday, April 9, 2011.

Agnostic Front - CBGB's, NYC 27.04.86

wikipedia;
Agnostic Front – amerykańska grupa muzyczna grająca hardcore punk oraz crossover thrash.

Historia
Została założona w 1982 roku w Nowym Jorku przez Vinniego Stigmę (gitara) i Rogera Mireta. Do oryginalnego składu w 1982 roku dołączyli Ray Barbieri (perkusja), późniejszy lider grupy Warzone i Adam Moochie (bas). Grupa w swej twórczości łączyła m.in. stylistykę oi! i hardcore. AF dali sporo koncertów m.in. z takimi grupami jak The Cro-Mags i Murphy's Law.
Wydany w 1986 roku album Cause For Alarm był produkcją, którą trudno było ukończyć ze względu na stałe zmiany składu i problemy osobiste. Wydany w Combat Records Cause For Alarm zawierał thrashmetalowe wpływy, kreując nowy gatunek nazywany crossover. Z nowym składem w 1987 roku nagrali kolejny album Liberty And Justice. Scena hardcore przeżywała wtedy drobny kryzys, dlatego na płycie usłyszeć można punkowe dźwięki z wkrętami thrashowymi i metalowymi gitarowymi solówkami. Niedługo później Miret został aresztowany za posiadanie i zażywanie narkotyków. W więzieniu pisał nowe kawałki podczas gdy Stigma z resztą zespołu odbył pierwszy koncertowy tour po Europie. Texty napisane przez Mireta zasiliły płytę One Voice (1992), przy nagrywaniu której udział wzięli członkowie zespołów Madball i Sick of It All.
Ostatni koncert przed pierwszym 4 letnim zawieszeniem działalności grupy miał miejsce w CBGB's w 1993 roku i nazywał się Last Warning.
Zaczęli nagrywać dla Epitaph Records (gdzie nagrywa m.in Bad Religion). Bérurier Noir - Festival Astropolis 06-08-2005 - Brest 2-2

Bérurier Noir - Festival Astropolis 06/08/2005 -... przez joydivised

Bérurier noir is a French punk band formed in Paris in 1983 by Loran (guitar), François (vocals) and Dédé (drum machine). They called themselves "noir" (black) for the color of mourning (because their first concert was planned to be also their last) and for anarchy and "Bérurier" after the character from the novels of Frédéric Dard. Instead of being an end, the success of their first show inspired them to continue. A cult band, Bérurier Noir were loved by a generation of youth and feared by concert organisers for the riots that followed their shows.

Ludwig von 88 - @ Lausanne 1987

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludwig_von_88
Ludwig von 88 is a French punk rock and alternative rock band mostly active in the 1980s and 1990s, and which gained an important success in the underground scene of its country. The band has not released any new material since 2001, but has not disbanded and is thus officially still active. Their music is quite similar to that of influent French punks Bérurier Noir: two-fingered and distorted guitar chords and drum machine as a drummer. Their lyrics evolved along their career from nonsensical and often juvenile humour to something more serious and sometimes social and political.
The band had different line-ups, among which the most famous from the late 80’s featured Karim Berrouka on vocals, Nobru (real name Bruno Garcia, his new pseudonym is Sergent Garcia) on guitars, Laurent and then Charlu on bass, and Jean-Mi on programming.
They made their reputation through endless and delirious shows performed by disguised musicians. Among their notable stage clothing: cycling jerseys, diving suits, Mexican ponchos and various funny headgear.
Some of their songs are satires on stars like Louison Bobet, Nicolae Ceauşescu, Maria Callas, Jacques Chirac, Jodie Foster or deal with more serious topics like war: "Libannais raides", "Hiroshima"; drugs: "Le Manège enchanté", "Kaliman"; and misery: "LSD for Ethiopie", "In the Ghettos" — always with irony.

J.M.K.E. - Live at Pogo Paul's Birthday Party 2005

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J.M.K.E
J.M.K.E. is an Estonian punk rock band, which formed in Tallinn on January 18, 1986.
Biography
The original singer, Mati, left the band soon afterwards, leaving Venno on drums, Tarvo on bass, and Villu Tamme on vocals and guitar, sometimes working together with guest singers (with Tõnu Trubetsky from Vennaskond playing under the name "Vürst Trubetsky & J.M.K.E."). For the first three years they mainly played concerts in Estonia, with a few also in Latvia, Lithuania and Russia. Later the band has toured Europe several times.
J.M.K.E. are known for their lyrics, which are at the same time angry and funny, ironic and melancholic, full of care yet cynical, and also they are known because of their peculiar melodic yet hardcore punk rock sound. They became one of the more popular rock outfits in Estonia, with the likes of Vennaskond, and Ultima Thule. In 1987 Villu wrote "Tere Perestroika", initially singing it alone with guitar. Later the band made numerous different versions of the song. It became a big hit because of its humorous topicality (Perestroika) and in 1988 won a song contest on a popular Estonian TV show. The prize was a vacation in Europe, but it never arrived. In 1988 came the first line-up change – Tarvo skipped from J.M.K.E. to the band Röövel Ööbik and a new bass player, Lembit, joined the band.
In 1989 the newly created Finnish record label Stupido Twins, with the aim of publishing some Estonian bands. J.M.K.E.'s "Tere Perestroika" was release # 001. The winds of change in the Soviet Union had already blown some chains away, and so J.M.K.E. were able to travel abroad for the first time in April 1989, playing their first concert in Finland to middle-aged communists at the Leftist Forum in Helsinki. Later that autumn they recorded for Stupido Twins their first LP, "Külmale Maale" (To the Cold Country), which was the first Estonian rock record made abroad. Maximum Rock'n'Roll called it "absolutely excellent". At the end of 1989 Venno left the band declaring that J.M.K.E. had “Become too commercial for me”, and Ardo took his place.
The band toured Estonia, the Nordic countries, and Germany, made a couple of EPs, and only by 1993 started to record a new album, "Gringode Kultuur" (Culture of Gringos). Meanwhile Estonia had regained its independence and J.M.K.E. couldn't continue with their anti-Soviet songs (what was the point?), so they found their new "enemy" in the invading "burger-culture", increasing poverty, and other early-capitalistic distresses. Lembit left the band in 1994 and was replaced by Sten. J.M.K.E. got also a new drummer, Andres.
Their third album, "Sputniks in Ресторан"("Sputniks at Restaurant") (1995), is an eclectic collection of popular Russian songs, sung in high energy Russian. The cover versions include the national anthem of czarist Russia, old revolutionary marches, soldiers' songs from WW2, and melodies from popular cartoons.
In January 1996 J.M.K.E. celebrated their 10th birthday with the longest lasting concert of their history presenting on stage almost all persons who had ever played with the band, permanently or temporarily, and with a cassette-only-release, "Rumal Nali" (Silly Joke, on Fucking Cunt Records). This contained old D.I.Y. recordings mainly from 1986 and 1987. J.M.K.E. didn't make their first "tidy" studio recording until 1989 in Finland although by that stage they had enough songs for three or four albums. It was just impossible to release punk rock records under the vigilant glance of sickle and hammer.
J.M.K.E. have gradually abandoned their directly political slogans and now tell more varied stories than before. Their fifth album, "Jäneste Invasioon" (Invasion of Rabbits, 1996), is a good example of their present character. Some consider it to be J.M.K.E.'s best product since "Külmale Maale".
In 2000, after 4 years of silence, the album "Õhtumaa viimased tunnid" was released. By then female back-up singers Tirts and Promille joined the band.
In 2006 J.M.K.E. released another album. This one for their 20th birthday, called "Mälestusi Eesti NSV-st"("A Memoir Of The Estonian SSR"). This includes songs that were recorded in a professional studio for the first time, for example "Ma ei saa sust aru", "Rumal nali", "Veri mullas" and many more.

Good Riddance - live at the Bizarre Festival @ Butzweiler Hof, Köln 22.08.1999

Good Riddance (sometimes abbreviated GR) is a punk rock band from Santa Cruz, California. They released seven full-length studio albums on Fat Wreck Chords, and their final album was a live recording of their farewell concert in 2007. Led by vocalist Russ Rankin, the band's longtime lineup included guitarist Luke Pabich, bassist Chuck Platt, and drummer Sean "SC" Sellers. Their sound was influenced by the hardcore punk scene and the band was known for their combination of fast punk with catchy melodies. Lyrical themes vary from political protests and critical analyses of American society to personal struggles and alienation. The band reunited in February 2012 to play some live shows.
