Omnia - Pagan Folk Lore

Omnia – zespół muzyczny pochodzący z Holandii, grający, jak to określają sami członkowie neoceltic paganfolk. Wykonują przede wszystkim własne utwory przesiąknięte tradycyjną muzyką z takich regionów jak Irlandia, Bretania czy Afganistan. Śpiewają w językach: angielskim, niemieckim, gaelickim, fińskim, bretońskim a także hindi. Występowali na wielu festiwalach Niemczech, Holandii, Luksemburgu, Belgii, Austrii i Węgrzech.

Garbate Aniołki - Jarocin 1992
Garbate Aniołki – polski zespół wykonujący muzykę punk i reggae, powstały w 1990 r. w Radomsku.
Założycielami zespołu byli Robin (bas) i Siwy (gitara i wokal), do których dołączył wkrótce na perkusje - Tyran. Pierwszy koncert, zimą 1991 r. w Miejskim Domu Kultury, skończył się skandalem i zakończeniem po wykonaniu pierwszego utworu. W kolejnych miesiącach Garbate Aniołki, zajęły się tworzenie repertuaru i graniem lokalnych koncertów, w tym też okresie doszło do zmian personalnych i nowym wokalistą została Olka.
Zespół wystąpił w ramach „otwartych drzwi”, w przesłuchaniach do Festiwalu w Jarocinie, a materiały z przesłuchań zostały zarejestrowane. W Jarocinie, Garbate Aniołki zagrały na małej scenie, a po występie posypały się oferty kolejnych koncertów w całej Polsce. W tym okresie doszło do kolejnych zmian personalnych-zespół opuścił Siwy, który w 1993 r. powrócił do kapeli w charakterze perkusisty.
Latem 1993 r. zespół nagrał swoją jedyną kasetę „Garbate Aniołki", która ukazała się nakładem wytwórni Silverton. Niebawem zespół zaniechał działalności.
Zespół zakończył działalność w 1994 roku. Ostatni koncert zagrał w swoim rodzinnym mieście – Radomsku. Od tamtej pory Garbate Aniołki już nie zagrały.

Пурген (Purgen, ПУRGЕН) — московская музыкальная группа, играющая в стиле панк, а затем в стиле хардкор-панк, а теперь по словам Руслана в стиле - Панк-Треш-Нео-Краст-Хардкор. Образована в 1989 году. Солист и бессменный лидер Руслан «Пурген» Гвоздёв.

Идея рождения группы возникла в 1989 году у бывших одноклассников Пургена и Чикатилы, проживавших в городе Москва. Настоящее имя Пургена — Руслан Анатольевич Гвоздев. В то время он учился в училище, а о профессии, которую он там осваивал известно лишь то, что там обучали выбивать таблички на мраморных досках. Однако за плечами у Пургена было десять лет обучения в художественной школе. Сама идея создания собственной группы возникла следующим образом:
В то время самыми прогрессивными направлениями музыки были метал, трэш, западная музыка, русский рок. Но, как признаёт сам Руслан, всё это не совсем их устраивало. Пурген объясняет это тем, что музыка была слишком «выдуманной, нереальной, сказочной», а русский рок по сути своей — слишком «бытовым». Тогда, совершенно случайно, ребята услышали такую музыку как панк-рок и сразу поняли, что это именно то, что их интересовало. Они увидели в этой музыке то, что искали — некую «глобальность», затрагивание проблем жизни и современности. После этого они поехали в «Рок-Лабораторию».

Zespół powstał pod koniec 1998 roku w Czechowicach-Dziedzicach, gdzie wciąż grają, z inicjatywy Marcina, którego w owych czasach nikt wokalistą, by nie nazwał :) Współzałożycielami kapeli byli Darek (gitarzysta) oraz Mariusz (perkusista), który nigdy nie widział na żywca perkusji :) Wkrótce dołączył do nich basista Sławek Malinowski. Zaczynali praktycznie od zera - zero sprzętu, zero umiejętności :) Jedyne co mieli, to pomieszczenie do grania. Wkrótce udało im się załatwić trochę sprzętu. Większość była własnością zespołu „avangarda”, który z braku innego pomieszczenia zaczął grać u nich. Plagiatu była właściwie tylko perkusja, nabyta okazyjnie przez wokalistę. Do tej pory ani razu na niej nie grał. Mariusz wreszcie mógł się przekonać jak takie coś wygląda! Pomimo całkowitego braku doświadczenia, postanowili tworzyć od początku swoje utwory. Tak powstały: Krzyk (obecnie zapomniany), Próba oraz Bez gniewu. Wkrótce dochodzi do zespołu kolejny gitarzysta - Sebastian zwany dalej Bambrem :) Jak powszechnie wiadomo, równowaga w przyrodzie musi być więc odchodzi basista, którego wkrótce zastępuje brat Darka - Rysiek. Powstają kolejne utwory: Letnia opowieść (także zapomniany), śmigłowiec (utwór instrumentalny), Termos. Na próbach zaczyna dość często pojawiać się Robert, kumpel Bambra. Bamber ma to do siebie,że większość utworów które „skomponuje” są już przeważnie czyjąś własnością ;) Stąd powstaje nazwa Plagiat, do której dodają super-tajny, mega-magiczny numer seryjny 199! Znów odchodzi basista.

release a record (the first being Rattus), and though their lineup has
changed frequently through the years, the band is somewhat active still

Government Warning is an American hardcore punk band that formed in 2005 out of Richmond, VA. The band plays a style of hardcore that is very much a throw-back to the hardcore bands of the early 1980s. The band also promotes a strong DIY ethic that is reminiscent of early hardcore bands. Many of the bands records were released by two of the members' own record labels: Alex's Grave Mistake Records, and Brandon's No Way Records. Even in the short time they've been together, Government Warning has been raved by reviewers as one of the best in the genre.

Czarzły - Live Warszawa 2005
Czarzły (lub Czar Zły, CzarZły) - Agresywny i szybki, lecz nie pozbawiony melodii hardcore punk na 2 gitary z krzyczanym wokalem. Nazwę zaczerpnięto z albumu zespołu Post Regiment. W składzie m.in. Zbyszek (wokalista Coalition, legendy gatunku) oraz muzycy z Afraid of That Day, Sunrise, Last Item, Outcast. Cały ich dorobek to jedno demo z 2005 roku, na którym znalazły się 4 numery. Grali na Open Hardcore Fest w Ostródzie w 2005 roku. Zespół promował idee wegetarianizmu i weganizmu. Niestety grupa rozpadła się w 2006 roku.

The Offspring - Göteborg 94
The Offspring is an American punk rock band from Huntington Beach, California, formed in 1984. They are widely credited, alongside fellow California pop punk bands Sublime, Green Day, Bad Religion, and Rancid, with popularizing and reviving mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States in the 1990s. Known as Manic Subsidal until 1986, the band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Dexter Holland, lead guitarist Noodles, bassist Greg K. and drummer Pete Parada. Parada replaced former drummer Adam "Atom" Willard in 2007, during the recording of the band's eighth studio album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, and has been a member of the band since.
The band's first two albums for the independent record labels Nemesis and Epitaph earned them a following. Their 1994 third studio album Smash became a breakout success and eventually sold over 12 million copies worldwide, setting a record for most albums sold on an independent label. The critical praise given to Smash garnered attention from labels, including Columbia Records, with whom The Offspring would sign in 1996. Their first album for Columbia, Ixnay on the Hombre was released in 1997 and was well received by critics. The Offspring continued to achieve success with their three follow-up albums, Americana (1998), Conspiracy of One (2000) and Splinter (2003), reaching multi-platinum, platinum and gold status respectively. Splinter was followed five years later by Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace (2008), which was also successful, due to the album's second single "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" reaching number one on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart for 11 weeks and becoming their only gold single in America to date. The band has finished recording a new album, which is due for release in the summer of 2012.

Channel 3, also known as CH3, is a punk rock band from Cerritos, California. Part of the Southern California punk scene of the early 1980s, the band had a sound that was more melodic than many of their hardcore contemporaries, and lyrics which ranged from thoughtful and satirical to bratty and self-indulgent. Songs like "You Make Me Feel Cheap" and "Separate Peace" were among the many sampled on punk compilations of the period, and the band's albums were modestly successful in both the U.S. and Europe.

Formed in the 1980s, the band helped define upbeat melodic hardcore and has been cited as a singular influence by a generation of hardcore bands. Guitarist Walter Schreifels' went on to form a succession of respected acts including Quicksand, Rival Schools, and Walking Concert. Frontman Anthony "Civ" Civocelli formed Civ, and drummer Sammy Siegler performed with a number of acts including Glassjaw and Nightmare of You.

Gorgoroth – norweska grupa muzyczna wykonująca black metal. Powstała w 1992 roku w Bergen. Nazwa zespołu nawiązuje do nazwy krainy Gorgoroth ze stworzonej przez J. R. R. Tolkiena mitologii Śródziemia. Do 2009 roku grupa wydała osiem albumów studyjnych niejednoznacznie ocenianych zarówno przez krytyków muzycznych jak i publiczność. Zespołowi przewodzi gitarzysta Roger "Infernus" Tiegs, który pozostaje jednym członkiem oryginalnego składu. Pomimo udziału w grupie licznych, utytułowanych muzyków działalność Gorgoroth jest skupiona w artystycznym podziemiu.

Zespół powstał na gruzach poznańskiego zespołu grającego hardcore – H.C.P. w roku 1989. Pierwszy większy koncert grupa zagrała w czasie Róbrege w 1990. Grupa po kilku zmianach personalnych i tragedii związanej ze śmiercią basisty koncertowała do 2011 roku. Członkowie zespołu są aktywnymi działaczami alternatywnego podziemia w Poznaniu (np. squat Rozbrat). Wielokrotnie koncertował za granicą: Czechy, Słowacja, Niemcy, Holandia, Włochy i Słowenia.
Grupa propaguje idee wolnościowe poprzez teksty, wspierając skłot Rozbrat, a także niekiedy propagując: wegetarianizm, weganizm, straight edge.
W 1998 roku utwór Apatii znalazł się na pierwszej składance Muzyka przeciwko rasizmowi, firmowanej przez Stowarzyszenie Nigdy Więcej

Wolfbrigade (formerly Wolfpack) are a Swedish D-beat crust punk band, formed in 1995. Their line-up has included members of Asta Kask, To What End?, Today's Overdose, Cosa Nostra, Anti Cimex, Obscure Infinity and Harlequin. Their music was a mix of Swedish hardcore punk and death metal. Singer Jonsson was forced to leave the band in 1998, and they recruited singer Micke. At around the same time, they changed their name from Wolfpack to Wolfbrigade, to avoid association with a Swedish neo-Nazi prison gang who shared that name. In 2002, drummer Frank left and was replaced by Dadde. The band split up in 2004 because of lack of motivation and Micke needing surgery for vocal chord problems. Four of the members started a new group, Today's Overdose.
On January 7, 2007, Wolfbrigade announced on their Myspace profile that they were reuniting. They have a new bass player, Johan, who also plays in Today's Overdose. The band released a comeback album, Prey To The World, in June 2007. In 2008, the group did yet another album "Comalive". In 2011, the band decided to go on a one-year hiatus when it comes to playing live gigs, but claim that they are in no way split up.

The band was billed as Wolf's Lair Abyss on a few secret gigs done on the Wolf's Lair Abyss-tour.
Mayhem was founded in 1984 by guitarist Øystein Aarseth (aka Euronymous), bass guitarist Jørn Stubberud (aka Necrobutcher), and drummer Kjetil Manheim (aka Manheim). The band name is taken from the Venom song, "Mayhem with Mercy."
During the early years, the band used either session vocalists Messiah or Maniac for live/studio commitments, and played either instrumentally, or with Necrobutcher or Euronymous on vocals during rehearsals.
By late 1987 both Manheim and Maniac had left the band, their positions were filled temporarily by members of Vomit, before vocalist Dead, and drummer Hellhammer took over in 1988.
Dead committed suicide in 1991 by shooting himself in the mouth with a shotgun after cutting his wrists with a knife. The shells were given to him by Varg Vikernes (Count Grishnackh), who knew that Dead used to practice with a shotgun in the forest close to the house where the members of Mayhem lived. His body, along with a suicide note saying "Excuse all the blood", was discovered in his room. Euronymous took some pictures (one of them appearing as the cover of the infamous "Dawn of the Black Hearts" bootleg album) of the suicide scene. A legend was born, and it was said that Euronymous had cooked and eaten pieces of Dead's brain. It was also said that fragments of Dead's skull had been collected and made into necklaces that both Euronymous and Hellhammer wore as a tribute to Dead. Of course it is doubtful that the truth was as macabre as people would like to believe regarding the cannibalism, but it is a confirmed fact that necklaces were made, and that pictures were taken.
With the media and police attention following Dead's suicide, Necrobutcher (Jørn Stubberud) decided to leave the band. Dead was replaced by Occultus (Stian Johansen), ex-singer of Thyabhorrent and partner of Euronymous in the "Helvete" shop. He sang and played bass in Mayhem for a few months, but soon left. With the band's need for musicians, Varg Vikernes (Burzum) joined as bassist and participated on the De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas album, along with Hungarian vocalist Attila Csihar who performed on the album but never fully committed to the band at the time.
On August 10th, 1993, Varg Vikernes murdered Euronymous in his apartment with Snorre W. Ruch acting as an accomplice. Their relationship before the murder was tense, as their friendship and musical relationship started going downhill. Vikernes, who had started to play bass in Mayhem, killed him due to a number of alleged reasons: over a girl, jealousy of Euronymous's position in the Inner Circle, Euronymous owing him money, Euronymous not releasing Burzum's albums on time. Euronymous was found in his underwear, with stab wounds inflicted with a knife. Varg was rumoured to try and outdo the murder Faust of Emperor committed. At his trial, Vikernes came into court with his long hair made into pigtails, and denying his involvement in Euronymous's death. He giggled and laughed throughout the trial. He was convicted of the murder and was sentenced to 21 years in prison (the maximum possible sentence in Norway). When police arrested Vikernes, he was found with over 150 kilograms of stolen dynamite and alleged plans to destroy Nidarosdomen, a large Christian church in Trondheim, on a religious holiday. Although, Varg Vikernes has a different story to the reasons for killing Euronymous (see www.burzum.org for articles Varg composed himself explaining the murder).
After the trial, Euronymous's parents asked Hellhammer to remove the bass lines that Varg had recorded. He told them he would record new bass lines himself, but the truth is that he didn't know how to play the instrument, so the album remained the same, featuring Varg on it. Other rumours about Occultus playing the new bass lines are also false, he never played a note with the band during his time in Mayhem, according to Hellhammer.
Depite the death of the band's founder and main driving force, Hellhammer later reactivated the band, with Maniac and Necrobutcher rejoining alongside new guitarist Blasphemer. Mayhem's musical style changed drastically over the years that followed. In 2004, Maniac left again and Atilla Csihar rejoined Mayhem on a full-time basis.
Mayhem's live show, particularly in the days of Euronymous and Dead, has always been known for featuring heavy atmospheric effects such as severed pig heads impaled on wooden spikes. Dead's clothes were buried days/weeks before the show, and were exhumed decayed, soiled, and full of insects. Pieces of rotting meat were thrown into the audience. Dead ravens were placed in a bag so Dead could continually smell decay and death. Members were also noted to cut themselves onstage. While the more extreme aspects of the show has been toned down in later years, Attila Csihar remains infamous for his theatrical performances and stage costumes.
Interesting fact: Euronymous is responsible for getting many nowadays famous bands (Darkthrone, Immortal, Emperor) into black metal and/or influenced them to change their musical style from death metal to black metal. He's considered to be responsible for sparking the whole Norwegian black metal movement and making it what it is today.
Despite once playing in the strongly anti-Christian band Mayhem, early vocalist Kittil Kittilsen (ex-Kvikksølvguttene, Vomit) left the music scene around 2000 and became a fundamentalist Christian and warns people of the dangers of playing in a rock/pop band regardless of what the lyrics/ideology is about.

Like many anarcho-punk bands of the period, Nausea incorporated both male and female vocalists. They were involved in the New York City Lower East Side squatting community. Their earlier sound with singers Amy Miret and Neil Robinson was in the vein of traditional hardcore punk. After Robinson's departure in 1988, he was replaced by Al Long and the band began to experiment with a darker, heavier sound. Robinson went on to form the bands Jesus Crust and Final Warning, as well as start Tribal War Records.

Korpiklaani (fin. „Leśny Klan”) - zespół folk metalowy z Finlandii (Lahti).
Pierwotnie nazwa zespołu brzmiała Shaman, pod którą nagrał dwa albumy; w 2003 roku zamieniona na Korpiklaani (brazylijski zespół o nazwie Shaman wygrał sprawę o prawa autorskie). Zmiana nazwy pomocna była jednak też do zaznaczenia zmiany kierunku muzycznego, jaką obrał zespół. Główną różnicą było wprowadzenie angielskich i fińskich tekstów piosenek oraz przeniesienie ciężaru muzyki z folku na metal.

Vitamin X or VX is a hardcore punk and thrashcore band from Amsterdam, Netherlands that was formed in 1997. They are named as one of the best and most important hardcore punk bands going. Their unique sound is characterized by furious hardcore punk mixed with turbo-charged thrash, 70's rock riffage and wild guitar solos. The members are straight edge but this does not reflect their lyrics or music. Their current line-up consists of four members: Marko Korac (vocals), Alex Koutsman (bass guitar), Wolfi (drums), and Marc Emmerik (songwriter, guitar).
Known for their witty socio-political lyrical themes and energetic live performances the band recorded several seminal full-length albums and singles on various international labels, mainly US label Havoc Records (Kylesa, Wolfbrigade, Fucked Up, From Ashes Rise, etc). The band has completed multiple tours of North America, South America, Europe, Japan, Australia, South East Asia and Russia. In 2001 and 2004 they played CBGB's, New York to a sold-out crowd. At a 2006 MTV live studio performance in Brasil a riot broke out after the band smashed their instruments.
Their 2008 album Full Scale Assault was recorded in Chicago by Steve Albini featuring a guest appearance by Negative Approach singer John Brannon and artwork by John Baizley of Baroness. It received critical acclaim from publications such as Metal Maniacs, Maximumrocknroll, Profane Existence, Suburban Voice, Exclaim!, and many more, several of them naming it as one of the best hardcore punk albums of 2008/2009
